Our story

A Lismore trade that never left town.

The business started in 1904 and has been making joinery for the Northern Rivers ever since. It traded for years as Dayal Singh Joinery & Kitchens, and today it is Design Spec Joinery + Kitchens, still family owned, still working out of Jubilee Street.

Everything is made to measure by qualified tradesmen in our own workshop. Doors, windows, architraves, mouldings, flooring, staircases and kitchens, built to your specification rather than pulled off a pallet.

The Master Builders Association has recognised the work five times, including Best Sub Contractor in 2011, 2012 and 2014, and Best Detailed Joinery in 2019.

Bathroom vanities, built in wardrobes, TV cabinets and wall units, made to fit the room you have rather than the room a flat pack assumes you have.
